“My child is bright, but he doesn’t like to study.” This was always how I was described. From early on, I applied myself diligently and industriously to everything except studying –a whole array of hobbies and amusements. And here I am. In my second year of high school, I created the G Pictures YouTube channel, initially just to have something to show off. In the process of trying to figure out what kind of content would be interesting to my peers, I began really exploring and researching what people my age wanted to see, what they were hungry for. After three years of trial and error, of creating (and scrapping) countless videos, I finally discovered that there was a concept that captured the hunger and yearning of my generation: self-efficacy, the belief that we as individuals can achieve what we set out to do. Since then, my goal in running G Pictures has been to help my peers, people in their late teens and early twenties, develop their unique individual perspectives on the world.
Currently, I’m taking a break and spending time thinking—about the world, and about people, and also about myself. I want to believe that to being human means being capable of growth.
