Jae-Woong Lee
Chief Executive Officer, Daum Communications Corp
Jae-woong Lee founded Daum Communications Corp. in 1995 as the first Internet service company in Asia. His passion for the potential of the Internet as “the” new media led him to start his career as an entrepreneur. Since then, he has served as Chief Executive Officer and President of the company. In addition, he is serving as Chief Executive Officer of Daum Foundation and as Board Member of Kids and Future Foundation.
Lee was selected by the World Economic Forum as one of 25 Digital Elites in Asia and, in 2000, was selected as one of Asia's 25 Movers and Shakers by ZDNetGlob of ASIAWEEK. Moreover, in 2001, he was awarded the Most Outstanding Achievement as an Internet Entrepreneur Award and the Asian Internet Award. He is widely-recognized as one of the world's premier leaders of the Internet industry.
Lee conducted research in cognitive science for two years at a research institute of University of Paris VI, after earning a Masters of Science degree in Computer Science, while minoring in Economics and Psychology, from Yonsei University in Korea.
