Mario Savastano
Senior Researcher, part of the National Research Council of Italy (CNR)
Mario Savastano is part of the National Research Council of Italy (CNR) and currently positioned as Senior Researcher at the Institute of Bio-structures and Bio-images of Napoli.
Mr. Savastano’s previous positions include a member of the ad-hoc group on Performance and Testing of Biometrics of the Biometric Consortium, in addition to Convenor of the ISO/IEC TC1 SC 37 and WG 6. Mr. Savastano was responsible for the work-package on the medical implications of biometrics in the EC funded project “BIOVISION” and is involved in two new EC projects on the diffusion of standards on identity management in health care contexts and on the next generation of identity documents based on tri-dimensions face images. Mr. Savastano is responsible for the scientific collaborations made with the Italian Government in the area of biometrics, and is a member of the Competence Centre for Biometrics of the Italian National Centre for Informatics in the Public Administration.
Mr. Savastano's current research activities are focused on the analysis of all non-technical factors influencing the identity management context. He is an Electrical Engineering graduate at the Federico II University of Napoli.
