Song-Yee Yoon

Yoon Songyee is Chief Strategy Officer of NC Soft Corporation, which is the largest online game development and publishing company in Korea. Prior to joining NC Soft, she served as Vice President of Communication Intelligence at SK Telecom, where she led the mobile data service platform strategy, user interface strategy and design, and personalized service business and framework development.
She received her PhD in computational neuroscience from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology based on her work at the MIT Media Laboratory regarding adaptive and intelligent system design. She worked as an engagement manager at McKinsey & Company, where she was part of the Asia Pacific High Tech and Media Entertainment Leadership Group and served as a member of various Korean government high-tech policy related bodies, including the Presidential Advisory Council on Science and Technology and the Ministry of Science and Technology Innovative Technology Committee.
Yoon was elected as a New Asian Leader and Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum in 2004 and 2006, respectively, Young Global Leader by Asia Society in 2006 and one of the 50 most influential business women in the world by the Wall Street Journal.
She was an adjunct professor at Yonsei Graduate School of Journalism and Media Communication and currently is an adjunct professor at Ewha Womans University School of Business Administration. She received her BS degree in Electrical Engineering from the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology and is a graduate of the Seoul Science High School for gifted students.
