As population and income levels have soared, so too has our appetite for fossil fuels.
Moreover, the forests that help form the lungs of our planet are being decimated and greenhouse gas emissions have skyrocketed, contributing to both global warming and ‘global weirding’, or an increase in abnormal weather worldwide.
Clean renewable energy has thus become critical.
Can solar energy, the supply of which is expanding along with wind energy, be our best bet? That is, will 'the sun' be the answer to the sustainable development of humankind?
