Won-Gil Woo
Chief Executive Secretary, Seoul Digital Forum / President & CEO, SBS
Woo Wongil, President of the Seoul Broadcasting System (SBS) and Chief Executive Secretary of the Seoul Digital Forum (SDF), began his career as a reporter at the Munhwa Broadcasting Corporation (MBC) in 1977. After working as a local news and feature reporter at MBC, he moved to SBS as one of its founding members in 1991.
Prior to being named President and CEO of SBS in January 2010, he served in several key posts, including Editor of the Political News Department, Editor-in-Chief, Executive Vice President of the Corporate Planning Department, and President and CEO of SBS Media Holdings. In August 2013, he was appointed the 18th President of Korean Broadcasters Association.
He earned his BA in journalism from Korea University and was awarded the Pride of Korean Journalist Grand Prix in the Social Affairs category in 2006 and the Order of Civil Merit “Dongbaeg Medal” for his contribution in clean election from National Election Commission in 2013.
