Jake Song

Jake Song, Korean name Song Jae Kyung, graduated Seoul National University, and received his master’s degree in computer science from KAIST (Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology). After dropping out of his PhD program in 1994 he developed MUD game ‘Jurassic Park’ and co-established Nexon. At Nexon he developed the first commercial graphic online game ‘The Kingdom of the Winds’. After leaving Nexon, he joined NCSOFT and developed MMORPG ‘Lineage’, an online game with huge following in Korea for over 14 years. He left NCSOFT in 2003 and founded XLGAMES. The company developed Dynamic MMORPG ArcheAge which was launched in Korean and Japan in 2013, and will also be published in many other countries including North America, Europe, Russia, and China. The company is also developing ‘Civilization Online’, online version of the world famous ‘Sid Meier's Civilization’.
