The internet contains multitudes. User habits change as technology evolves, and the media landscape is constantly shifting, with outlets competing for attention and struggling to find viable business models. Vox Media tries to cut through this noise with smart brands that people love in big categories they’re passionate about. Each brand's audience has a unique context of habits, assumptions, even community norms. What does it mean to preserve brand identity and audience relationship across multiple channels, devices, and platforms we don't control? How can we create products and programming that engage evolving audiences when we're not sure where they'll be in even 6 months? It helps to be honest about our uncertainty, and to foster an inclusive and dynamic culture where teams are open to fresh perspectives and new ways of thinking.
