Jerald Fritz
Executive Vice President, Strategic and Legal Affairs, ONE Media
Jerald Fritz is Executive Vice President for Strategic and Legal Affairs for ONE Media, a subsidiary of the largest U.S. broadcast station owner, Sinclair Broadcast Group. He plays a key role in shaping ONE Media’s ideas for the next generation broadcast platform and Sinclair’s national and international spectrum use positions. Mr. Fritz came to ONE Media from Allbritton Communications Company where he was the long-time head of strategic and legal affairs for that TV station group. During the administration of President Reagan, he served as the Chief of Staff to the FCC Chairman and as a primary architect of deregulatory efforts in the broadcasting and telecommunications industries. Prior to joining the FCC, Mr. Fritz was in private law practice and taught on the adjunct faculty at George Mason University Law School.
Mr. Fritz has lectured extensively and testified before Congress, helping to craft major telecommunications legislation and FCC regulations involving wireless service, program ownership, alternative distribution platforms and copyright relationships. He also has been intimately involved in the expansion of traditional broadcast businesses, including cable and Internet news ventures. Mr. Fritz served as a past Director of the National Association of Broadcasters and a Governor of the ABC Affiliates Association.
