Professor in the Yonsei University School of Business, President of the Korean Marketing Association
KIM Young Chan is a professor of business administration at the Yonsei University School of Business. He graduated from Yonsei University College of Commerce and Economics with a degree in applied statistics and went on to earn a master’s degree in biostatistics as well and a PhD in quantitative marketing at the University of Michigan. He has taught at the University of Groningen in the Netherlands as an assistant professor and at Georgia Institute of Technology as a visiting professor. His research focuses on development of data-based consumer product selection models as well as marketing strategies based on market structure analysis. He teaches subjects including marketing management, marketing research, marketing strategies, quantitative marketing models, and B2B marketing. He has had papers published in major journals across a range of areas, including Journal of Marketing Research, European Journal of Operational Research, Journal of Econometrics, Journal of Personal Selling and Sales Management, Journal of Business Research, and International Journal of Advertising. In Korea, his papers have been published in such journals as Journal of the Korean Marketing Association, Journal of Consumer Studies, Korean Journal of Advertising, Korean Management Review.He is currently President of the Korean Marketing Association and was previously President of the Korean Society of Consumer Studies. He has also been head of the Yonsei University Global Learning Institute, Yonsei Sangnam Institute of Management, and Yonsei University Institute of Continuing Education for the Future.
