CP(Chief Producer), SBS Entertainment Headquarters, Creator of Two-way Contactless Performance Format, Producer for K-Trot in Town, My Little Old Boy, Star King
Sixteen years ago, KWAK Seung-young was in the studio to film the popular Korean entertainment show X-Man, when he observed the trademark witty banter and antics of show hosts YOO Jae-suk and KANG Ho-dong for the very first time. He immediately began thinking of how the show could be edited to best convey the fun they were all having.
His heart raced with the same feeling as a producer for Ya Sim Man Man, where the candid, honest conversations between hosts and guests got him thinking, “This could be really fun.”
This was the same exhilaration he felt the first day of filming for My Little Old Boy, watching veteran comedian and show host SHIN Dong-yup blush at the no-holds-barred commentary of the now-famous celebrity mothers.
A similar rush of energy flooded through him his first day filming K-Trot in Town on location in Vietnam, at the sight of the performers singing their hearts out, tears on their faces.
Today, despite the disappearance of the studio audience, the show must go on. And it is.
The first time Seung-young heard the cries of several millions of online viewers watching his first contactless concert, he once again felt that familiar thrill. “This could really work.”
